Today begins one of the busiest weeks of the offseason, as the baseball world gathers for the 2014 Winter Meetings in San Diego.

Here front office executives will meet and discuss potential trades in person, free agents will be courted, and minor league front offices will prepare and get ideas for the 2015 season ahead.

As always the Suns have a contingent of executives at the Winter Meetings, and we’ll get a report later this week on what they saw here and on jaxsuns.com.

The Marlins are expected to be busy in San Diego, looking to add more pieces to an already talented roster and give Giancarlo Stanton more support. Pitching is always a priority, but Miami will also be aggressive in making sure the roster is ready to compete for a playoff spot in 2015.
