JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Miami Marlins announced a pair of transactions that impact their Double-A affiliate Jacksonville Suns roster prior to tonight’s game against the Birmingham Barons at 7:05 p.m. at Bragan Field.

Right-handed starting pitcher Trevor Williams has been placed on the disabled list, retroactive to July 25, with a right groin strain. This season Williams is 6-8 with a 4.16 ERA in 19 appearances and 18 starts for the Suns. Williams, a second round pick by the Marlins in the 2013 draft, is listed by Baseball America as the Marlins eighth-best prospect entering the 2015 season.

In a corresponding move, left-handed starting pitcher Jarlin Garcia has been transferred from High-A Jupiter to Jacksonville. Garcia in 18 starts with the Hammerheads is 3-5 with a 3.06 ERA in 2015, and was a midseason Florida State League All-Star.

A native of Santo Domingo, D.R., Garcia represented the Marlins in the 2015 Sirius/XM All-Star Futures Game in Cincinnati on July 12. Garcia took the loss in the contest, allowing three runs on three hits in his inning and two-thirds pitched at Great American Ball Park. Garcia is listed by Baseball America as Miami’s No. 10 prospect in 2015.

The Suns roster now stands at 25 active players, and a revised roster is attached.
