Suns and Wahoos Suspended in Third

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Suns (13-23, 42-63) and the Pensacola Blue Wahoos (20-16, 45-59) were suspended due to rain in the third Monday night from Bragan Field. The game will be resumed at 5:35 p.m. ET followed by game three of the series set to start 30 minutes after the completion of the opener.

The scoring would begin in the top of the first after Alex Blandino and Jesse Winker generated a double and a walk respectively, to then score courtesy of Seth Mejias-Brean’s two-run double. Pensacola would hold a 2-0 advantage through one inning of play.

Moving to the second frame, Pensacola worked a pair of runners in scoring position for Sal Romano’s RBI sacrifice fly to make it a 3-0 contest.

The Suns and Wahoos will continue their series Wednesday night with a first pitch set for the suspended game for 5:35 p.m. ET with game two of the day slated to begin 30 minutes after the completion of the opener. The Suns will send out Matt Tomshaw (5-8, 4.25 ERA) while the Wahoos will send left-hander Wandy Peralta (6-7, 5.71 ERA) to the hill in the nightcap.
