JACKSON, Tenn.– The Jacksonville Suns (16-31, 45-71) shutout the Jackson Generals (15-31, 44-70) 4-0 Thursday night from The Ballpark at Jackson.

Suns starter Austin Brice (W, 5-8) generated seven scoreless frames on the mound relinquishing three hits while walking one and striking out seven. Dylan Unsworth (L, 2-5) in his start for Jackson worked five innings allowing two runs (both earned) on six hits (one home run) while walking one and striking out three.

The Suns would get on the board in the top of the first, after Kenny Wilson singled to lead off the frame, then stole second, and moved to third on a fly out. With now two gone, David Adams laced a RBI single into center to leap Jacksonville ahead 1-0.

Flashing to the top of the fifth Kenny Wilson (HR, 7) mashed a solo home run over the left field wall to put Jacksonville in front 2-0.

With two outs in the top of the sixth against Generals reliever Moises Hernandez, Elliot Soto and Zack Cox provided base knocks that brought in solo runs, and pushed the Suns scoreboard edge to 4-0.

Fabian Williamson out of the Jacksonville bullpen hurled a pair of scoreless innings while striking out four.

The Suns and Generals will square off again on Friday night with a first pitch set for 8:05 p.m. ET from The Ballpark at Jackson. The Suns will send out left-hander Chipper Smith (2-3, 4.83 ERA) while the Generals will counter with lefty James Gillheeney (4-4, 3.36 ERA).
